Are young people the same wherever they live, whatever their background? Do they share the same energy, joy and sense of mischief regardless of their social and physical environment? Do their interests, their friends and how they spend their time differ from each other? Members of the Youth Leaders for Peace project in Monaghan and Keady Youth Forum in Armagh got an opportunity to look at some of these questions.
Over the 9 month project the two groups worked together to explore the issues of living on a border area and to promote that learning to their peers by producing the DVD. The project commenced with a training and development stage facilitated by the Northern Ireland Youth Forum. The final stage was delivered by media company BNL Productions where the foundation work done by the NIYF was picked up and turned into a creative issued based film project. Ray Mears Survival films was decided as a theme and the rest is shown in the film. Enjoy!
