The ‘Delivering CANN’ conference took place on Wednesday 11th September in the idyllic setting of Corick House Hotel and Spa.  Overlooking the vast countryside, it was the perfect location for the mid-term event that celebrated the conservation work taking place throughout the Collaborative Action for the Nature Network (CANN) Project.

The CANN project is a cross-border environment project which aims to improve the condition of protected habitats and to support priority species found within Northern Ireland, the Border Region of Ireland and Scotland, allowing the region to meet key EU biodiversity targets and ensuring the future of these internationally important habitats and species.

The ‘Delivering CANN’ conference was attended by project partners and governmental bodies to encourage collaborative thinking, learning and action. It celebrated the success of the project as it reaches the halfway point in delivery since it’s launch in 2017.

Management of attendees

Invitations were sent via a custom mailchimp and followed up with phone calls. Attendees were asked to register for their free ticket on Eventbrite. Media release waivers and dietary requirements were also captured as part of the registration process.

Our staff managed the registration of attendees upon arrival, printed their name badges and attached these onto lanyards, as well as handing them custom goodie bags. Catering was also supplied for various intervals throughout the day.

A printed brochure allowed attendees to follow the event’s proceedings and find out more about the key highlights of the project to date.

Guest Speakers

BNL Productions developed a line-up of key speakers that would each bring a specific area of expertise to the event. We briefed them on the programme, the event and managed the booking of their travel, accomodation, meals and transport to and from the airport.

All speakers were flown in the night before and fully briefed on the event, the CANN project and the objective of their keynote address.

We were delighted to welcome:
Lizzie Daly– Wildlife Biologist and Broadcaster
Diana Pound – Dialogue Matters
Chris Fry- Moors for the Future Partnership

Live Production

The room was set up two days before the event with a projection screen, truss, lectern, pop up banners, coloured lighting and all AV equipment tested.

Keynotes were received and tested ahead of the event and sound checks took place with all key speakers before the room opened for attendees at 10.15am on 11th September.

BNL Productions provided a photographer to capture highlights of the day, as well as photo calls for the media.

Throughout the Event

Set Up

Signs directed attendees to the Orchid Suite and a branded banner was erected in the hallway to allow for photo opportunities.

Live Tweeting

Live Twitter updates were posted throughout the event, tagging key personnel, utilising the event hashtags and making sure there was maximum engagement with both those attending and those able to access the event content remotely.

Highlights Video

Our team were on site capturing aerial cinematography of the landscape as well as conducting interviews of key stakeholders and guest speakers  and cutaways filmed throughout the event.

Live Production

We had crew on site making sure the event ran smoothly and to schedule, we made sure that all speakers’ presentations were triggered on cue, Q&A sections were managed efficently and that all audio visual support was given to ensure a slick event delivery.

A networking lunch completed the event’s proceedings; interviews from keynote speakers were also captured at this point in the day.
